These are chops from real, uncleared records. Here's what that means for you, technically and in reality.
No. There are no producer royalties, publishing splits, or fees. You keep everything you earn.
Technically
Yes. Releasing music built on uncleared vinyl samples is technically an infringement of the original copyright holders' rights.
In reality
Almost no independent producers handle this themselves. Labels and artists deal with it if it ever becomes necessary. We've personally never had to clear a sample. In every real situation, we've either just released the music or, at most, provided sample info to the artist, label, or producer we are working with.
Yes, make beats, rap on them, add drums, don't add drums, chop, flip, arrange, whatever. Use them however your process works.
The one thing you can't do is repackage and resell the samples themselves.
The legal nuance only matters if a record moves into a bigger commercial situation. It has nothing to do with your creative process.
Technically
Samples should be cleared before distributing music commercially.
In reality
The independent music industry runs largely on uncleared samples, especially at the underground level. Songs with 500K to 1M+ streams regularly go untouched. The most common outcome when a rights holder does notice is that the track stays up but gets monetized by them instead of you. Actual takedowns are relatively rare.
We always recommend understanding the risks before releasing anything commercially. CHOP'D Audio provides samples for creative and production use. What you do with your finished music is your call.
Technically
You'd need licenses from both the master owner and the publishing owner of the original recording.
In reality
it depends on the situation. If you produced for an artist or label, it's their song and they handle it. Your role is just to be upfront that a sample was used and provide whatever source info you have.
If it's your own release, same process, but at that point you'd likely have a team or label involved anyway.

Typically, sync placements require fully cleared, licensable material. Sync supervisors are strict about this and usually won't touch anything with an uncleared sample regardless of how it sounds.
If sync is a serious goal, original compositions are the only clean path.
This question usually means one of two things:
